Imagine a career where you extort people on the side of a highway for victimless offenses. That's what the CHP does, they aren't even real police officers 😂 they just clock speeders on the highway all day.

Do they still give the femal applicants unlimited tries on each of the physical tests? Back in the 90's the men got one chance at each station, it was pass fail. The females were allowed to try as many times as they wanted. They could go sit down at the table and rest, come back and try again and again, they only had to get it once. The guys got one shot at each test only.

I was a police explorer when I was in my teens for the Coral Springs Police Dept. I did it for like 3 years. It was fun...exposes you to law enforcement and prepares you. You learn signal codes...police procedures...get to direct traffic....work with cops...ride alongs..learn report writing...learn how to use firearms. Community service and crime prevention etc.

The agency I work for in CA. has many prior CHP officers, ironically some joined after they retired from CHP. All are solid on patrol and in investigations.

Trying my best to join a law enforcement agency big shift in career though going from teaching to it I pray one day to make it to sure my local state or community

I love how uniform and clean all of their equipment is. No distracting and confusing flash patterns. Very well designed. The updated Whelen system is nice as well; however, the Whelen custom CHP wail/yelp tones will be missed.
